Weekend gallop report
Six work riders today, so we managed to cover all the string in two lots.
First lot, on a fairly dark morning
Having run at Kelso last Saturday, the two mares popped up the gallop just once. And very pleasingly too, as they showed that they are very well, and have come on nicely for their runs.
Both came up twice, and they are steadily getting fitter.
And lastly, a couple of our horses who are in the 'stayer' category, came up three times, rather more steadily than the above quartet.
Second lot, who all had two spins up the gallop

Saturday morning visit from The Brave Lad Partnership
It was great to see the 'lads' down at Dodlands this morning. We were pretty sharp, but Donald, Paul, Jim and George were all in place to see their Hexham scorer Hartforth do a couple of spins with his regular work rider Garry in the saddle.
And he certainly put on a fine show for the lads, with his second piece particularly impressive.
Race planning discussions over tea, scones and jam (thanks Helen), with a choice of engagements in the offing - 2m 6f at Wetherby on Friday, or 3m at Ayr next Saturday
