A couple of good recent runs
First the not so good......Nearly May did not follow up her fine Newcastle run at Kelso last week, fading away alarmingly when holding a good position on the bottom turn in her Kelso bumper. Her brother Nodda High Kid has ran similarly in the last couple of years, so it may be a family trait.
Ellistrin Belle ran well for a long way over 2½ miles on her handicap hurdle debut at Musselburgh. She jumped the last in second but probably the softening ground found her out at this trip. Good stuff though.
Sam Patch ran...well, a Sam Patch type race...at Sedgefield, holding every chance from 2 out, but just couldn't get there in the end. He finished second beaten just over 2l, but did show signs of bleeding from the nose again.
Up and coming
Well, swiftly really, as Hawaii Klass competes at Musselburgh tomorrow in a novices handicap chase over 3 miles. Which may be the top end of his stamina, but the tight East Lothian track and good ground may compensate.
Looking further ahead, stable star Hartforth is ready to run and we're
looking for suitable races in the next couple of weeks.
Shadow Boxer is
back in full training, and we'd like to run him while the going is soft.
Bollin Julie just missed out at Musselburgh tomorrow, being the first
horse eliminated in the ballot for the handicap hurdle.
Snapping Turtle
is having a break awaiting better ground, he must be the exception to
the rule which states that all Turtle Islands want it soft.
Other than that, we may take one of our
unraced geldings,
Shades of
Midnight, to Musselburgh on Tuesday for a racecourse gallop.
Enjoy the week!
