Runners at Musselburgh and Kelso
Ellistrin Belle has been
a bit unlucky in the last couple of months, in that she was cast in her
box. We took our time in letting the young mare recover, and feel sure
this will pay off in time.
Anyway, she makes her handicap debut at Musselburgh tomorrow over 2m 4f,
and we think she'll be suited by the sound surface (advanced going is
good). So, is OR90 a fair mark, or has the handicapper taken no chances?
We'll find out tomorrow
Onto Kelso on Thursday, and although we had Nearly May ready to make her hurdles debut at the abandoned Newcastle cars last week, she'll go in another bumper at our local course this time. Local course? Bah! We've had 1 winner at this picturesque venue, since Adam was a lad. So, it's with a lot of hope more than confidence that will be behind the mare on Thursday.
Fine run from the progressive Hawaii
Our 9 yr old Hawaii Klass
(a 3 time winner) is still officially a novice over fences, ran such a
fine race on his return to action after a 6 month break. Jumping well,
carrying top weight on heavy ground, he finished a close third in this 2m 5f handicap
chase at Carlisle.
Lots to look forward to over the next few months to excite his Star
Racing owners.
