Kelso Sunday with Houxty Belle

Kelso 14th January : 1.20 pm 2m 6½f novices' hurdle (Class 4)

Soft, probably a good deal testing, conditions at Kelso's Sunday meeting, and Houxty Belle (Craig Nichol) makes her hurdling debut for owner/breeder Bill Aitchison.
She is a lovely, sweet filly but didn't show much on her sole bumper run last season and will be one of the outsiders in this race.

No doubt Lucinda's Irish Point winner Choose a Copper will be most people's fancy to land this, after his 3rd place in a listed event at Sandown but Nicky's Nab Wood caught the eye when running on from off the pace at Ayr last time. He looks to be suited by this step up in trip and in receipt of 7lb from Choose A Copper may upset the favourite.
