News from Dodlands
We are steadily winding down the string for their summer break. Baby Ticker, Tomahawk Wood and Hartforth are already at grass, Night Comes In and Shades of Midnight are booked in for a couple of months chez Bannerman, and Dali Mail and Eternally Yours will now be roughed off.
There are a couple though that may have one final run for the season, but this will be in the next 10 days or not at all. Side of the Road, Paper Roses, Bollin Julie, Snapping Turtle fall into this category while our unraced mare 'Brooke' may take in a bumper at Kelso at the end of the month.
So, mixed exercise for the string on the gallops, with another couple
of our unraced youngsters, 'Sting' and 'Reeva', doing their two spins a
day on the Up-the-Middle gallop.
Of course we do have a couple of horses for the flat too, the juvenile
Borders Dream and the newly
arrived, useful handicapper Wor
Lass. Wor Lass of course
was bred and is owned by long-time friend of the stable Les Doods, and
this 9yr old mare has won 9 races on the flat when trained by Scobie
Jardine and Susan Corbett.

Possible runners at Perth next week
Ladies' Days and Nationals - they've all got 'em.
And so to Ladies' Day at Perth next Thursday, and we've got three horses entered although participation is very much dependent upon the requisite amount of rainfall in the days leading up to racing. Monday looks a good day for the garden though.
We reckon that since it is Ladies Day, all races will be restricted to
fillies and mares, so we've selected three of our best for the day.
Three horses but just two races with both Paper Roses and
Side of the Road
entered in the opening maiden hurdle, and
Bollin Julie is entered for
the 2m 4f handicap hurdle (0-100).
More seriously, look out for more definite plans on the eve of racing on Wednesday.
