Undecided runs in the Newcastle bumper (Saturday 5.25pm)
Undecided has been given a few months off since his debut run in a bumper over the same course and distance as today in early December. We feel he'll be more suited by the sounder surface (good to soft) than he may have encountered during the worst of the Winter months.
10 opponents and given the dominance at the Cheltenham Festival, we
did check to see if any Irish raiders had snuck into the line up.
Phew.....!
I mean, the superiority of Irish trained horses during the 4 days was
breathtaking. Just the 5 winners (out of 28) from these shores and
Rachael Blackmore beat that total on her own.......the inquisition will
no doubt continue well into the Autumn.
And good to see winners by sires such as Yeats and although sadly deceased, the trio of Stowaway, Sulamani and Midnight Legend. Coincidentally, all sires represented amongst the current inmates of Dodlands Steading. What......?
Anyway, I digress......Undecided in the Newcastle bumper where Callum
Bewley rides.
He ran a race full of promise on debut, running a wee bit green when the
pace quickened turning for home. But he's a nice horse and we hope he
can be more competitive at the business end here.
Rebecca Menzies' 4 year old Twoshotsoftequila was quite well fancied
on his debut in an AW bumper here at the end of January and currently
sits at the head of the market overnight. The one to beat however is
surely Kinneston Nick's previous scorer Travail D'Orfevre who impressed
many when winning at Ayr last year.
Rose's Ocovango Delta and Micky the H's Clear White Light (by Dubawi out
of a Galileo mare) were separated by a couple of lengths when 5th and
4th in an AW bumper while none of the unraced horses make much appeal on
breeding (as a first time out bumper winner that is).
Which leaves Lucinda's Petite Rhapsody - a Shirocco gelding - who hasn't
been seen since running 4th on debut in December 2019, although the
winner and the 5th horse have won subsequently.
So, do look out for those market moves.
Best of luck to 'Mouse' Young and his cohorts of The Buyers Club.
