Two runners at Musselburgh, Monday
Musselburgh, Monday with advanced going described as good to soft
(good in places). It can dry up quite quickly at the East Lothian
(currently Tier 3) seaside course, so the expected rain will be welcomed
by most.
First race for us is 12.45 (Paper Promise), so it'll be a fairly early
set off from the Scottish Borders (currently Tier 1).
And so to the racing....Craig Nichol rides Paper Promise,, and it was
he who was in the saddle when the mare won her novice hurdle (over
today's distance of 2 mile), in what seems like a lifetime ago but it it
only March last year. She recorded one of her two bumper victories at
this course so we hope she will again enjoy the sea-air.
13 runners, 4s the field, tells you everything about this race and the
winner could come from anywhere although top weight Royal Cosmic returns
after a wind op and she has won 4 times here, so clearly she likes the
sea-air too.
Best of luck to the Ellistrin Partnership and Craig.
An hour later, last week's young man-of-the-stable Connor Wood takes the
ride on Big Bad Dream in the 3 mile 'hands and heels' 0-105 hurdle for
Conditional/Amateur riders.
Trongate and Top Billing will be to the fore in terms of winning but we
hope Big Bad Dream can
put his best foot forward for his owners The Brave Lads.
Good luck to all and stay safe, especially the People of Scotland (Tier 4 looming).
