Recent sales purchases update
All bar a couple of the string (and they'll be there next week) have moved onto gentle canters on the Up-the-Middle gallop. They are just doing one turn up at present and it's steady as we go.
Give it a few weeks and there will be plenty of excitement to report on, but meantime here's a progress report on the four 3yr old stores acquired in Ireland in mid August.
Together in the paddock - Valirann gelding, Califet filly, Sageburg gelding and the Libertarian gelding
Local horseman Nick Orpwood was able to take these horses. Nick trains a few point-to-pointers and has been a regular successful rider on the circuit for several years too.
As you can read from the highlighted report above, 4 horses made their
way to the Scottish Borders after the NH Store Sale. There was a half-sister to
our own Paper Roses & Paper Promise, a strong Libertarian gelding, a
likeable gelding by Valirann and a good-looking son of Sageburg.
The education process has been progressing well, and as you can see from
the photos Nick is now sitting on and walking the geldings who seem very
professional.
Stars of the future?.......Well, of course!!!

2018-19 Season's Review
For reasons only known to ourselves, the Dodlands Steading National Hunt season review is always published early September. This covers the period between 1st August 2018 - 31st July 2019.
For a small - medium sized yard, we're delighted with the season past showing the continued trend of improving the quality of horses stabled here with results on the racecourse to back this up.
Read the full statistical review in our Articles section here.
And finally......
Our website team have been working tirelessly (eh? - Ed)
over recent weeks, and all of the individual pages for each horse have
now been updated or even created!
Read more about the form, pedigree, sire and
family of our inmates and even a fascinating story or three.
Interested? Well, details can be found on the Horses In Training section. Then again even if you're not interested, details can still be found there.
The 2019-20 Season Preview, where you can fill your notebook with
handicap dark horses, unraced youngsters catching pigeons on the home gallop
and lots more
will be published towards the end of September.
Not sure whether it'll be
Donald or Callum providing their thoughts as yet, but it'll be a
cracking precursor to our jumps season which will probably get going
early November.
