Saturday gallops
An overcast, damp start to the morning on Saturday and there was a
fair bit of rain to welcome the first lot onto the gallops just after 7
am.
This group did a couple of gentle-ish canters, the workload ever so
slightly increasing each week

Equine Influenza vaccinations
Our vet Sarah Simpson popped into the yard and discussed arrangements
for Equine Influenza vaccinations for the string.
Current BHA rules necessitate that thoroughbred racing horses require
repeated vaccinations every 8 months, with a further months grace in
which to run.
Calendars, calculators, slide-rules and an abacus were all in evidence before final agreement that a middle of next week jab would see the horses through to the end of May.....unless the vaccination period is changed in the meantime.
So, a relatively quiet week ahead for the string as a result and fingers crossed that there are no lasting side effects.
