Tomahawk Wood entered on day 1 at Perth

Our gelding Tomahawk Wood is entered in the 3 mile handicap hurdle at Perth's evening fixture tomorrow (Wednesday).

A little bit ground dependent, but Perth's clerk of the course has been applying plenty of water during these balmy conditions. We wouldn't risk Tomahawk Wood on ground that wasn't completely safe.
He ran very well when winning at Newcastle last time over 4f shorter, and has been raised 10lb, but both horse and jockey (a winner at Hexham on Saturday)are in fine form, so we go with realistic prospects.

Paper Roses runs on Thursday

At Perth, in the mares only bumper. At this stage, not sure of the declarations but there's a few likely sorts amongst the trainers in terms of knowing what it takes to win a bumper. Gordon Elliott, Lucinda, the ever dangerous Don Cantillon, while Stuart Crawford has six entered. Oh, and Tom George looks like running his Irish point winner, a £32,000 purchase last September.

Still Paper Roses has the pick of the bumper form to date, and she'll be the one to beat.
