Shades of Midnight

He's come out of his Ayr race in good heart, and he's had a fairly easy week out it.

His new handicap mark is OR144, and we're left with the enviable position of choosing his next race with his rating determining that it will be at one of the end of season festival finales.

Paper Roses

We still can't quite believe she didn't win that Sedgefield bumper a couple of days ago. But second best she came off (is it Yoda who's writing this? - ed).

Given a great ride by Callum, the mare was in a controlling position throughout, tucked in nicely behind the two leaders. Making an effort at the top of the bend turning for home, she took up the lead but was being chased by Only Orvieto who collared Paper Roses in the final 150 yds. With fresh air in third, this had the look of an above average bumper for the track, and we'll try again to find a race for Neve, probably on a more sound surface.

Kelso tomorrow

Snapping Turtle is now back on a more realistic handicap mark of OR105, but his form has tailed off. So, although he takes his chance at Kelso tomorrow, we can't really say with any certainty how he will perform.

Baby Ticker needs to complete one more novice hurdle to get her handicap mark, and runs in the opener at our local track.
