Weekend racing review

Well, close but no Cigar.

Hartforth ran a very fine race on Saturday finishing second to Lucinda's Amore Mio, who seemed infinitely more suited by the very soft ground. He responded bravely to Callum's urgings and produced some excellent jumps over the last 3 but was well held near the finish.

On to Sunday at Carlisle, and we're fairly happy with the performances of our trio. Bollin Julie ran as well as she could given her handicap mark and looked that little more competitive off 7lb lower mark. More please, Mr Handicapper.
Ellistrin Belle ran well for a long way before the step up in trip in very holding ground took its toll. She'll next appear in a handicap.
Bare results show Nodda High Kid fared the best with a 3rd place in the 2m 3½f handicap hurdle, but didn't seem to really appreciate the heavy ground. He'll have better opportunities.
