10th March news

Kelso Sunday. Mid March.....where else would you rather be?

Kelso 10th March : 3.20 pm 3m 2f 0-130 Handicap Hurdle (Class 3)

With a tongue tie applied for the first time he was a fine winner last time out at Ayr on soft ground, Mousetrap Racing's Shoeshine Boy now turns out on less testing ground and a step up in class at Kelso today.
This 8 year old gelding has been a shrewd purchase by Mark Young as a 3 yr old and has given Mark and his cohorts immense pleasure over the seasons since. But you've got to think that, in handicapping terms, he's a bit exposed and runs in this race off his highest mark of OR104 (that last win was off a 3lb lower mark).
Still, with Morebattle Hurdle victor Craig Nichol on board, you never know......

According to T******m, this is an extremely tight contest with very little separating the protagonists on their best form. A couple here returning to timber after falls over fences last time may hold the edge. And who are our dedicated form students to disagree?
Of these pair reverting to the smaller obstacles, Kinneston Nick's Ned Tanner may just have the edge. He looked set to pounce when departing 2 out in a valuable chase here last time.
(Editor's Note : so that makes the other one (Imperial Merlin) a stick on.......)
