Baby Ticker out of luck at Kelso yesterday
The 2m 2f handicap hurdle at Kelso yesterday was run at a fairly
brisk pace, with the first two Animore and Sophie Fatale racing
prominently throughout.
These two fought out the finish around 10 lengths clear of the third.
Baby Ticker could never
really go the early pace and a mistake 4 out, when she was being asked for an
effort, put paid to her chances.
She kept on to finish in the main pack
in 6th beaten around 14 lengths.

First winner for Connor Wood
Young Hawick amateur rider Connor Wood won his first race under Rules at Kelso yesterday when Samstown won the last for Brother Ali.
If you'd read our Jockeys
page in The Team section, you'll have been aware that for the 2019-20
season, Connor has been splitting his morning between Hawick's two
yards occupied by the Whillans brothers.
Steering a wide route in this staying chase, this had the desired effect
as his mount jumped well throughout. Connor then delivered Samstown with
a strong challenge over the last, and push clear on the run-in.
Excellent.
So, we can be forgiven for joining in the celebrations for Connor in his
success. A well deserved victory for a hard working guy.
