Has it gone yet?
Snow......doncha just luv it?
The roads, at least, were clear last Friday to allow the racecourse team to make their way to Musselburgh with a couple of runners. We just made it back in time, mind you, as further snow swept across the country in the early evening. And snow was still falling on Sunday afternoon, so it's been steady walking, trotting for the string.
Starting to clear today, thank goodness.
Friday's runners? Most times you learn more in defeat than at any other time.
Night Comes In was
pulled up as the field entered the bottom turn in his 3 mile handicap
hurdle. Probably needs a little bit of surgery to address a problem that
has been stopping him complete his races. Should be able to come back
for a Spring campaign.
Danced Every Dance
ran very green and took off towards the stables on entering the back
straight in her bumper. That apart, she kept on pleasingly from the home
bend to finish well, but was so far adrift due to her wayward
maneuver that the first four were long gone.
However, the Oscar mare showed that she possesses ability and should be
competitive in bumpers on good ground.

Later on this week
Dali Mail is entered in the bumper at Kelso on Thursday where the plan is to run as long as the ground is not heavy. Side of the Road has the option of a 2 mile handicap hurdle at Sedgefield on Sunday or a handicap over a bit further at Ayr at the end of the month.
Both are going well at home, so we'll see come the day.
