Keyboard Gangster at Perth

Halfway down the back straight, and a motionless Callum made smooth headway to joint the leaders, having dropped Keyboard Gangster in when the tapes went up. What happened next was a real blow to the stable, as we thought the Gamut gelding had the capability of running nice race from that position.
However, there was obviously some pain experienced by 'Kerr' as he cocked his jaw and swerved violently left and almost came to a halt on the outside of the course. There was no recovery from this and Keyboard Gangster was eased and allowed to come home in his own time.

Quite a blow to the yard, being honest, as we have always regarded the gelding as a nice prospect. Well, we'll see how he is over the summer, and get him checked out. We just hope it's nothing too serious.
