Tomorrow at Kelso
Kelso is host to a fine set of competitive races tomorrow (Saturday). Three Class 2 events are the highlights of the 7 race card, and Channel 4 (there are other TV stations available) seem to think so too, covering 3 races. The middle of these looks a cracker, a 3m 3f handicap hurdle with the top weight Milansbar running off a mark of 141.
At the other end of the weights is our own
Hartforth. Upped 7lb for his success last time out, the 7yr old gelding is on a career high mark of
120. With Callum claimed by his boss Venetia for a couple of mounts at
Stratford, Wilson Renwick has come in for the ride tomorrow. Of course,
Wilson started off his career at Dodlands Steading as a youngster, and
has ridden several winners for us over the years so we're delighted he
was available.
Anyway, this is a step up in class for Hartforth, and the good to soft
going will be a bit livelier than ideal. But, nothing ventured, nothing
gained....
Hartforth will do well to eclipse his last run when winning at Ayr, but fingers crossed he won't have to wait until 2026 to record his next success.
Either way, those Brave Lads will have an enjoyable day out at their local racecourse!
